I’ve had some Real Estate agents in the past that unfortunately were not very good. We decided we needed to find an excellent agent because we were going to sell our multi-unit property and buy another via a 1031 tax exchange. We had meetings with a couple of RE agents and picked Andy based on his knowledge, openness, thoroughness, integrity, expertise in multi-unit housing and we are so happy that we picked Andy. Andy sold our multi-unit property at an excellent price and we bought two additional multi-unit properties at excellent prices all during the uncharted COVID-19 waters. As an acquisition manager for my company Reliant Group Management LLC we are constantly looking to acquire suitable multi-family projects that fit our business model. As a company we have acquired over $2.25 Billion worth of real estate assets, approximately 21000+ units, throughout CA and the US. Having family roots in Santa Cruz County I have a special affinity to the area and wanted to find the right properties which would enable Reliant to have a presence in the Santa Cruz market. I contacted Andy Kay. Through my research Andy Kay appeared to be a very active multi-family Broker in the Central Coast of CA market. 1 worked closely with Andy and his client as we worked through the acquisition of two adjacent properties totalling 103 units in Santa Cruz.
The Seller had received from numerous other qualified groups, offers to purchase these properties. It was largely because of Andy’s persistence and long term relationship with the Seller that our group was selected as the Buyer. The negotiations,timing, and satisfying the Sellers exchange needs were challenging but Andy assisted every step of the way and we collectively got the job done right on time. The Seller had both reverse exchange and forward exchange needs to be met and the fact that one of the properties was an affordable housing property overseen by HUD added another level of complexity to these transactions.
